CSI Challenge 3

AWhhh I totally love this colour pallet and the theme of the challenge from CSI this week (Colour Stories Inspiration)

I absolutley LOVE how CSI actaully overlap their challenges so you actually get TWO WEEKENDS to finish and load into the gallery

I have used the NEW Birdcage and Dress Form - its such another great shape - I have added some music themed material behind it - from DUSTY ATTIC
along with Donna Salazar and Pion papers - I have made the flowers using the die cut from Donna Salazar as well.

The bird and the florishes at the top and bottom of the photo are made from plaster of paris from none other than MOULDS BY MEL !!!

I had such great fun 3ding and hand sewing on my layout !!! - Its what I totally love and relaxes me so be prepared for lots more 3ded layouts lol !!!- and hand sewing !!

Look at those bling flowers.... From Green Tara

I love how the tea cup etc turned out by doing paper tole (3D) - also see that beautiful pin there... One of my beautiful friends Tina Dalton
makes them and is opening her very own etsy store for you to purchase them from !!!

Wine Presentation Box (for my Dad)

It is very very very hard to buy for my Dad, he has everything he wants and getting him underwear or pajamas is just boring ... So I was quite excited when I found this Bare Wine Bottle presentation box! and My Dad loves Wine!!!
Decorating it in a Male fashion was made very easy with PION papers and Dusty Attic chipboard (of corse)

I used the gorgeous Fancy Trim as a border around the top - with the paper and tags

One of the Images from the paper surrounded by the Mini Cogs and
a piece from the cog frame set. I have then added the fence all the way around the back until it meets the other side.

The other side is the same in reverse with a slightly different image

The most special part LOL - where to put the wine !!

Merry Christmas Nicola

My Handsome "BIG BOY" Michael went to his Georgeous girlfriend Nicola's Year 11 School Ball (Look how much he loves her - he has a pink vest and k'chief)

So of corse LOTS and LOTS of photos where taken - What better to make Nicola for Christmas but a display frame Of them all.

Pion Papers where PERFECT for this piece (and Nicola, my little pinky girl) along with Dusty Attic Chipboard, Moulds by Mel, Green Tara flowers and lots of blinggggg embellishments.

These awesome roses (which look like resin) are actually wax - made from a mould from " Moulds by Mel", with Green Tara flowers and that awesome bird cage!

Ky Christmas

This is some of the MANY photos that I took of Kyden for Christmas (you should see his gorgeous with Santa photo!!! - coming soon LOL)
My MIL (his Nana) bought him that cute "Santa Baby" Christmas hat and I bought him the 2011 Xmas Bear!!! (and... yes I will buy him 2012 etc etc as well). Donna Salazar Christmas paper is so so nice so I have used this along with images from the Graphic 45 papers (Love!!!) with my beloved Dusty Attic Chipboard, Quote, Christmas tree, Holly Florish and leaves
I have used lace to hand make my flowers..... YES !!! I have used flowers on a BOY Layout - because he is a baby and I can LOL (No flowers to be seen on layouts of my grungy teenage boys!!!)

The little Graphic 45 images down the side of the photos add that little bit extra "Christmas feel" to it ......

I have taken this photo on the side so that you can see how I cut the Christmas tree in half and then off set it (I have Used Helmar Liquid Scrapdots to get the height).
Only the top piece has been decorated with diamond dust and pearls.

Friendship......

A stroll back to the car from seeing the awesome Wave Rock with my gorgeous friend Tina - arm in arm just chatting, turned into this awesome photo thanks to Evana (and her battery in the camera lasting for ONE last shot ) and THEN the marvy Michelle Grant worked her magic on it and added the special effects to it !!!

I have used the Dusty Attic December Sketch as my start off point. That totally rockin paper is from 7 Dots Studio and designed by none other than Finnabair (Anna) - I have started by stamping the background with different stamps and inks - Then added all of the devine chipboard !!! The Grasses, Mini trees (I have used the negative behind them with ink first) and that great typewriter font letters are all from the new release but I have also used some of my favs, the brick wall, the branches and the little bird and small florishes. THEN I have done " the Finn" and covered my photo and sprayed Glimmer Mist in different colours all over my layout.

I ADORE this photo and it is a special moment captured because I will always remember what we where chatting about and the awesome time we had while we were all away at the Wave Rock retreat..... cant wait for the next one xox

Love - Dusty Attic and Websters papers product swap

At the beginning of the month Dusty Attic and Webster's (devine papers and embellishments) had a product swap which was so much fun - The Dustettes got to play with their paper and they got to have some devine Dusty pieces for their work.

This is the layout that I did of Mine and Anthony's first dance as Husband and Wife ....

I have used the new Dusty Attic Roses - Rose in bloom DA0662 - Rose Stem DA 0661 and the Single Rose Bud DA0634, Grass Cluster DA 0660 and Cameo Slide with the Western Romantic Websters Papers.

The cameo is from a mould - Yep a mould !!! - look at all the beautiful little details!

This is a photo of My Nana and her Sister, They are both still going strong and well at 91 and 89 years young!!! - Now since my Nan doesnt have a computer I can put this up AND tell you its for her Christmas Present.

did a 6x6 one - DA0683 (I think to just stop me from nagging her LOL) - She has already got an 8x8 and a 12x12 one so all that was missing was the small one right ?!?!?!?
THEN
She also did this amazing Garden Tile Frame set that can go with it !!! - and yep she did the tile frame in the bigger sizes as well because she is awesome like that really !!!

I know I said I would be back with a layout of Kyden - Sorry - I will do that one soon ... BUT hey

I really really really like "Off the Page" things - So when I saw these 6x6 Displays with Stands from Dusty Attic - I knew I had to do one !!!
The set is these two pieces plus two stands (DA0598)

That stunning corner is from the brand new release called Corner Florish #2 (DA0629) - I have also used the a Vintage Key (DA0392), Wings #1 (DA0499), and I have cut up one of my favorite pieces the Birds on a Branch #2 (DA0594)

IM SO EXCITED ... Bring on Next year (not that far away really) - there is so much going on next year it is going to be totally awesome !!!!

Will be back soon with a layout of the most beautiful baby in the world (besides my babies LOL) ... Yep My Nephew Ky!

Life is better with Helmar and Dusty ......

Hi Everyone....

I did this canvas because I absolutley Loved the sentiment
" Life is better with Friends"
And the brand new Dusty Attic Birds on a branch piece looked to me like a bunch of girlfriends hanging out together have a " tweet"
I totally adore all of my friends - even my on-line friends that I have made but not actually ever met.
BUT
I want to share the love .... and am having a give away of this canvas BUT that is not all ...
Tracy from HELMAR has also given me a pack of adhesives that I used to make the canvas to give away with it !!!!
Ya gotta love that !!!

This is my FAVORITE adhesive - along with the Liquid Scrap Dots, V2 vellum spray, oh who am I kidding I love all of Helmar glues and mediums (especially two step crackle!)

Birds on a branch #2 from Dusty Attic
was coloured with my water colour crayons then a coat of clear embossing powder over the top ... I have used Helmar
V2 Vellum spray to adhere it to the canvas - the spray gets into the little delicate parts of the chipboard without smudging out the sides

Mmmmm... a sneak of my next blog update !!!

ONE of the BEST things I have ever Made .....

ONE of the Best things I have ever Made

Is my oldest SON Michael ! (then my Second Son then my Third Son)

Approx 2nd June 1992 I went to the Doctors and said I felt sick and was vomitting all the time (especially when I brushed my teeth) and Im tired all the time etc

I think i have a VIRUS !?!?!?!?!
He said NO no no I think your pregnant of corse I replied
Pfftt dont be silly - Im on the pill have been for years and I havent missed any or had any antibiotics etc !!!
( what drugs was this guy on ??)
So anyway we did a wee test and it was NEGATIVE
(Told ya so!)
He said come back in three days if I dont feel any better where we did another wee test and it was NEGATIVE
(he is persisant)
so He gave me some Maxalon to stop me vomitting and I had to go back the
next week we did yet another Wee test - NEGATIVE
HELLO !!!!! Im not pregnant DOC !!!!
Just to humour himself I think he sent me for a blood test instead .....
I phone him on the Saturday morning for the results thinking you know Low Iron or something when he said
- YOU ARE PREGNANT !!!
I was so stunned I think I dropped the phone LOL !!

TOMORROW MY "VIRUS" IS 18 !!!!
THIS Beautiful Baby was Born FRIDAY the 13th August 1993
(Yes BLACK Friday - hehehe explains a lot really)
It is just so amazing how something so small can be have the biggest impact on your life in such a beautiful way.

You are a beautiful and MUCH LOVED Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Mate and Boy Friend !

One thing you need to remember is that when others look at you and see a 6ft 3 MAN - I still see that little baby/boy that used to sit on my knee that I used to read books to and just cuddle!

The other thing you must NEVER forget is that no matter what happens in your life I am here AT ALL TIMES for you sweetheart. I LOVE YOU

MOJO and MOMENTS

Hello Hello Hello
See my ticker up the top there that now say "15 days SINCE Camp Mojo" - it was the most awesome experience !!! Not only did I get to spend time with my beautiful Besties but also meet lots of ladies that I have only known from Face Book as well as catch up with some friends that I had met the year before and make new forever friends - My heart is just full of love for these beautiful precious ladies xox
The camp was run so beautifully and OMG the food was amazing - the absolute best thing was in a room of 80 woman who alot of them are who's who of scrapping or Masters or own stores or Companies or Challenge sites or kit clubs - Not ONE BIT of EGOTISM at all - it was totally refreshing and everyone enjoyed everyone elses company !!!! One of my most fav experiences !!!

I was TOTALLY spoilt by Jennifer from DUSTY ATTIC she sent me the BRAND NEW JULY RELEASES so I could take them away with me - Heaven !!!!

While I was there I created this canvas of My oldest son Michael and his beautiful girlfriend Nicola. The quote from Dusty Attic reads "Enjoy the Moments that make you Smile" - (DA 0587) perfect

I have used the Helmar V2 Vellum Spray to adhere it down as the spray gets over all those beautiful squirls

Look at that absolutley awesome Floral Frame (DA 0576) - I have used ink to colour the Laser cut and then gone around the edges with a darker colour the added stickles to the flower sections

The flowers I have cut from the Tattered Florals die and wet them then scrunched them - I have glued them together using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Glue

I totally ADORE these girls - they are my BEST Friends and have the absolute most beautiful souls anyone could ever have.
This photo was taken in 2010 while we were at a class together. Dont think we got alot done but we have an awesome time together as usual.
When I saw the new Bassic Grey papers at Tomorrows Memories I knew I had to have them !!!

I have used the Dusty Attic Ornate corners (DA0556) - one above the photo and one on the side, those awesome blings are from Delish designs.

I have coloured the Dusty attic chipboard corners with an ink pad and then used UTEE over the top to get that luxury look

I love that cute little stamp (DA0551) and the Cameo Head (DA0552)of corse from Dusty Attic

That beautiful flower is from Tomorrows Memories and that big butterfly "pebble" in the middle - here's a secret - Its a magnet ! Nice hey ????
I am so excited because tomorrow Mel, Me and Meg get on a plane together to go to Camp Mojo in the Hunter Valley NSW !!!! four days of scrapping and chatting and meeting my On line friends in real life !!!!

We're Off to see the WIZARD .......

One of my ALL time favorite movies is the WIZARD OF OZ - A song I hum all the time (apparently while scrapping) is "Somewhere over the Rainbow"- SO imagine how EXCITED I was to see Graphic 45's Oz papers OMG OMG OMG !!!
Teamed with tubes and tubes of HELMAR Liquid Scrap Dots I got to work with the Scarecrow Papers first and then the printed 12x12 paper that has four different 6x6 panels on it ....

The next set are 3 of the four images on the 6x6 sheet (I only did three of them because I am going to mount them onto a canvas and only needed 3)

Neglected !!!!

My poor poor blog has been neglected! - I have not been well and have had surgery - all is great now :o) .....
SO ... I have quite a few things to update !
Starting with this layout I have done of Kyden (the first of many many many more to come)
I have used the Little Yellow Bicyle Dinosaur papers !! This was for the July sketch challenge on the Helmar blog It is Red,White and Glue to celebrate 4th July celebration - but as I am an Aussie - I have just tilted the sketch and used baby papers ....

How cute are those dinosaurs??? - I have used HELMAR Zap dots to give them some height and dimension.

This Beautiful Baroque Frame is from DUSTY ATTIC (DA 0542) I have coloured it with Broken China Distress Stain and then used Enamelware Embossing powder (this is clear with flecks of white though it) The Baroque circle frames come in a set of two different size circles plus two photo corners!
I have added one of the corners to the right edge of the frame to continue with the swirls and curls

Next is a Layout that I have done of my Nana at her 90th birthday party.
I have used the DUSTY ATTIC Baroque frame - this time the large one - Look at how different they look just from colouring and decorating them - I have used the red Distress Stain for this one and then a layer of clear rock candy distress.
That awesome Peaceful heart saying is also from DUSTY ATTIC (DA0561)

Next is a layout that I did for Tomorrows Memories of my Beautiful (much loved my me!) Melle Belle!
I have used the Kaiser papers and that totally awesome Peacock feather from Dusty Attic I have used blue and green inks and then used gold leaf foil in parts. I love how it has turned out

Butterfly Box

Hello Everyone

Sorry I havent updated for a while !! - unfortunatley a very close friend of mine passed a few weeks ago - My beautiful friend Nicole only 38 - leaves behind a son (16) and daughter 18 months old and her loving husband. I do know however she is watching us !!!!

But I have also been busy creating and doing class samples for Tomorrows Memories

I would like to share this cute little gift box that I made using the NEW Collections papers, Tissue Paper and Butterflies.

To create that awesome texture on the sides of the box, first I have smeared Helmar Tiger Grip glue along the edge and then used a plastic pastry brush to score the lines....
Then using your heat gun, heat the glue so it bubbles and blisters a little as well as drying off the glue, after that I have just used irredescent gold paint to lightly go over the texture.
I have made spirals from some tissue paper by using Helmar Tiger Grip glue as well - lightly brush on some of the adhesive to the "right" side of the tissue paper and then roll it around your paint brush handle to curl it. When it is nearly dry slip it off the end of your brush and leave to completely harden - this gives the tissue paper a curl that will not unravel and stay nice and twisted.
This of corse works with all types of scrapbooking papers but the new Tissue paper from Collections is just devine ....

And last but NOT least the 3D Butterflies.........

I have cut out the NEW Collections Butterflies and inked the edges, then using an awl handle (or Pen!) I have sculptured the wings for dimension, inbetween the layers I have used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to add the 3D effect.....

Tomorrows Memories Charity Auction - Cancer Morning Tea

What an awesome day we had on Saturday at Tomorrow's Memories - There was the biggest Morning Tea for the Cancer Council PLUS an auction PLUS a 12 hour crop - altogether the Auction raises approx $2700 plus the rest of the fundraising money to be added to it yet - will make it over $3000 Im sure.

I was so so so excited that my donation of a "SHE"canvas (inspired by Christie Tomlisons classes I have been doing) sold for $210

Tomorrows Memories Cancer Council Morning Tea

Every year Tomorrow's Memories hosts the "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" for the Cancer Council and to help raise funds for this wonderful cause, we design an "Art Piece" so that all our customers can join in too.
This year our theme for the Art Piece is "Timeless"
which is displayed in Natural/Cream tones.

There are 36 individual packs available for the "Art Piece" and each pack is $5.00. ALL funds go directly to the Cancer Council. The finished "Art Piece" will be displayed in the store on the day of our "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" and "Auction" Day on Saturday 14th May.

This year they are displayed in the Dusty Attic 12x12 trays (YUM!)

This is my Cancer Council art piece done ... Love the creams of the pack- I have added the Dusty Attic mini words "Timeless Beauty".....

The clock has been crackled using HELMAR
Crackle (I love their two step crackle - look how fine those cracks are) - when dry I have brushed over tattered leather glimmer mist and let it seep into the cracks then wiped off

The flowers where in the pack and I have added the brads and that BoBunny Butterfly - I have used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots (My STAPLE !) to pop up the butterfly above the flowers

My Mum @ 16 (awwwhhhhh...)

I adore this photo of my Mum - and I finally got her to part with it - you know, because it was just chucked in a "safe place with a lot of other photos! "

I have used the new papers from Delish Designs (from Tomorrows Memories - of corse!)

The Dusty Attic florishes and leaves have been coloured using two different inks (brown and blue) and then using my finger rubbed a tiny bit of gloss over the top ....
Those gorgeous floral sprays and white flowers are from Green Tara, and that beautiful blue flower is Prima.

See those little pearls in the floral sprays - they were standing up and catching so I used a little of Helmar

tacky glue
and in seconds they were adhered to the layout but still nice and dimensional.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD KYDEN

My Sis and Him both scared us all a little bit - She was really not well at all and neither was he (low low low heart rate) and when they did the ultra sound they found he had hardly any fluid around him

After much monitoring etc, Bel was moved to Kind Edward Hospital where after ten minutes they decided to "get him out"
I only just got there before they cut her open !
And he had the cord around his neck twice as well - so very lucky they decided on a c section
Absolutley amazing experience - I held his beautiful little hand at five mins old !!!

All are well today (Tuesday!) and I get to cuddle him tonight !

Ribbon club layouts

Good Afternoon Everyone

Well the start of another week - A really busy one for me !!!
Im so excited that in a few weeks I will be an aunt for the first time!
The baby shower is going to be at my place on Saturday and I cant wait to take some really nice Belly shots of Belinda !!!
These are the two layouts I did for my nephew (When he is born) - I have used some photos from the internet until I can put some of him on there!
The papers are the baby range from Kaiser - the ribbons are available from Tomorrows Memories Ribbon club kit!
See those beautifully curled/twirled ribbons ??? - I have used the Helmar Fabric/Ribbon stiffner - It is so easy to use and dries quite quickly.

I have also used Dusty Attic chipboard borders (heat embossed silver) and the Cherish and adore family words

Helmar USA Design Guest Designer Submission

Hello my beautiful friends,
This is my submission for a Designer Guest Spot for Helmar that I would like to share with you ....
These are some of my Favorite Helmar products.
See the flower on the left hand side at the bottom - that is made out of crochet doilies - I have used the Helmar fabric stiffener to mould the doilies into a flower shape and then layer them together (the fabric stiffener works really well with Ribbons!)

As you know I LOVE 3ding my work and what better papers to use than Graphic 45! - This is just beautiful beautiful paper and needed to be "fussy cut" - I have used the paper - scissors - ink for the edges - Helmar Tiger Grip - Sculpting tool and 3 tubes of Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots ! That is how much it has been raised.

My second piece of work is actually a receipe holder that I have altered into a little reminder that sometimes we need to stop and take a breathe and things will fall into place.
I have used Daubers, Gesso, Glimmer Mists, paints and Treasure Golds to create the colours. The crown is from a mould and I have used Wax instead of clay as I feel it shows the details in the mould really well.
Of corse there is the little bird in the nest and some branches, florishes and beads. (all glued down with Helmar 450)
The photo is crackled with the Two Step Helmar Crackle - I LOVE this crackle - It is clear and does not need paint inbetween to make the product crack which is why you can use it on a photo or any type of image.

My third piece I adore !!! - this is a photo of my gorgeous beautiful boys and I on Mine and Anthony's wedding day! (My Dad rekons they are smiling because they have their shoes on the bed and Im not yelling at them LOL)
I have used the Dusty Attic 12x12 Frame - I have used Masking tape technique all over the edges then first painted it with Gesso and then the pink paint - Here comes the fun stage - I applied Helmar 2 step Crackle over it and used small brush strokes to get the fine cracked china look effect - I have finished it off with a white wash of paint to hightlight the cracks and the texture.
The layout I have used Bazzil, Resist paper with Glimmer mist, Dusty Attic Word and Florishes with Glimmer Glams and Glimmer Glazes, Love word tile, flowers and the bird pepple - I have used Helmar Tiger Grip to adhere my layout incorporating Liquid Scrap Dots on a few elements to make them rise from the layout.

There is also a technique I use (not shown - YET!) where i use droplets of Helmar Tiger Grip glue onto my ATC - Or Page and heat the glue until it rises and bubbles and then bursts - It makes a great technique used on chip board as well with Treasure Golds or rub-n-buffs to add texture

Love my Dusty Attic

I adore scrapping photos of my boys when they were little - I get a bit teary somethimes though - wanting to hold onto them at that age - this is a photo of Michael and Steven feeding the ducks out at my Mum and Dad's place - look at Steveys fat little hands grasping the bread and Mick's little glasses had snoopy dogs on the side LOL (he would kill me now!!!)
they have matching rain coats bought by them by my Mum - of corse we had to use them straight away !!!!
On the 28th December us Dusty girls all ventured out to Tomorrows Memories (Well three of them work there LOL ) .... The beautiful Nancy organized for her friend Gabbi to take some portrait photos of us !!! Well I had fun doing a girly scrapbooking page - and one of myself !!! - I dont think I scrap myself enough BUT have vowed to change that this year...

Fleu de Lis Frame .....

When Jennifer from Dusty Attic showed me this frame I squealed with delight !!! I love love love Fleu de lis !!! this Frame actually fits around the top of the 8x8 shadow box and the middle sits inside the box portion - of corse it can be a free standing piece as well - I think I am going to use mine as the front of a book or album. I have used images of some art work that I have on my walls at home I really love this series.

This is my latest piece of ~~work~~ (Mmm not work - enjoyment!) that I have created with Dusty Attic - I love the Shadow Boxes which come in 8x8-DA0489 and 12x12 -DA0488 (these are the inside measurments so a 12x12 piece of paper will fit in the 12x12 box)with a BRAND NEW insert- DA0512 that can either stand on its own OR be put into the shadow box - I love the 3D effect that it projects....

Around the edge of the insert I have used cream lace and the Dusty Attic Fleu De Lis border (DA0433) (- Because I love love love fleur de lis!)

A Three Dimensonal delight - I love what I have done here and is one of those pieces of work that I have done that I keep looking at LOL !!! Of corse The skelton clock - stop watch and gears and all from Dusty Attic as well ... mixed in there is a little light globe and some watch pieces - I really wish the photos would show you exactly what it looks like with all the depth - but hopefully you will be able to see. I have another ready to go with the new Playtimes Past papers - just need lots of hours to cut cut cut

Floods and Fires

To all those affected and families my heart goes out to you

I know I said in yesterdays post that I will be putting up some pics of my artwork but I cant bring myself to do with the Floods that have claimed lives in Toowoomba QLD and all the effected areas of flooding along with the fires here in Perth - that has claimed at least three houses with a whole lot more in danger and 100+ people being evacuated - It is a sad time in Australia at the moment.

It makes me so very "insert swear word" angry with the fires - SEVEN fires deliberatley lit in the same area! - Peoples whole houses are gone and with the heat here today and the winds who knows how many more because some Fkn bastard likes lighting fires !!!! One of my friends (Mistra) suggested they get charged with attempted murder - I totally agree with her - Whatever they get charged with is never enough to compensate for the loss and pain they cause - of corse that is if they get caught !

Banners Be Gone ......

How is everyone? not long now until Christmas ! Our tree is still not up because all three of the boys want to put it up together and one is working this night and then another the next etc... Might be Sunday morning with some pan cakes for breaky I rekon.

I have made this Necklace using the Dusty Attic flags (banners) ...
I rekoned Evana was having a huge chuckle when her and Jen where doing the DT kits up for us all .... She knows I dont like banners or flags, they remind me of a used car yard for one ! - (as it turns out they are a product you love or hate)
HOWEVER - they were in my pack and I was using them !
Lightbulb moment went off in my head...... the result this necklace which I totally adore. I have even been stopped and asked where to buy one from !
The Banners/Flags ..... - I have used 5 of the flag type

So.... get some banners and make some Jewlery.

Mel and I went to the Inspired Crafts Christmas Crop with Mistra and Evana. Mmmm home cooked dinner and Christmas desserts and a door prize - It was a great night - the four of us were laughing and giggling like school girls and creating, it was great "food for the soul". It was exactly what I needed. So thank you girls it was awesome xox. Even though we were "distracting" each other I did mangae to do the "white with one" challenge = white with grey and masks ..... I will show the pic's in my next blog update - you should try it - harder than you think because all i wanted to do was add more colours hehehehe....

Hiya everyone {waving} - time to update..... ready - this is a long one! - I have some news, some Dusty goodness and as I said in my last post a Pic of my 90 year old Nan's party ........ get set - GO.....

You might have been able to tell from the website, blog and newsletters that I am no longer a part of the Scraptivate teachers or design team. This has been totally my choice and is not reflection to any of the staff or the shop - I totally love the Scraptivate store, Mel, Kelsey, Mandy and all the other girls ... I would love to thank Natalie for having me as part of her team the last few years and allowing me to teach, create and even go on a plane trip to Sydney. I have left for a few personal reasons - mainly because I am not spending any time with my boys. Anthony also works two jobs during the week and as I work full time and working on the weekends - well you can imagine - we never really saw each other ! - It wont be long until they are ALL leaving the nest as well. So I am taking a few months off and regrouping myself. Stay tuned though because I have lots of new plans for the new year ---- WATCH THIS SPACE ---- LOL .....

I am totally in love with Dusty Attic designs!

Scrap the Boys ....

I am so sorry to my blog for neglecting you !
To say I have been busy is an understatement
I have been to Sydney for the Penrith Paper Crafts show - I have to say the SCRAPTIVATE stall was the best of the retailers by far (bias I am - I know) - I will pinch some pics from people and blog them later LOL. Three weeks before we left Mel, Michael, Natalie and I painted the store - And Natalie and Mel rearranged and culled the gondalas - It looks great!
My Nana turned 90 and we had a beautiful afternoon tea for her at my cousins house (Sam and Mandy - did a great job xox) - will be back with pics from that as well!

So what do I have pics of you may ask ????
- well because my darling friend Mistra took my lay-out home and photographed it for me AND then sent it to me, I have photos of a layout I did of my Dad and Michael (my 1st born!) - they are so simalar not only in looks but mannerisms as well - sometimes it is spooky seeing your child pull a facial expression you have seen all you life from your Dad.
This is my entry for SCRAP THE BOYS this month - Using Chipboard
(awhhh a challenge just made for me LOL hehhe)

I have used Bo Bunny papers and embellishments with of corse DUSTY ATTIC chipboard pieces, the new book plate which is just absolutley beautiful also the fleur de lis and the frame. The crown is from a mould and I have used wax instead of clay because it gives so much more detail. (however you cant heat dry any paint or anything you use on it ) To get that look on the chipboard I have coloured it with glimmer mist, then used SMOOCH in the teal, gold and white then covered the whole piece with UTEE.
I love how the utee makes it thick and glossy without being too shiny.

Talking about Excited... The beautiful Miss Kelsey put me on to the best books I have ever read ! - THE BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD series - Do YOURSELF a favour and have a read !!!! - anyway we are having our first book club meeting on Saturday night together. "sigh" I have been counting down sleeps to that all week as well ! A few weeks ago I did the ART DOLL class with Kelsey as well and I am just loving the look of my doll so far - when I finish it I will share Pics - It was a set of three classes and amazing !!!! Due to popular demand she is running the set of classes again - you can see Kelsey's doll that she has done instore.

I have some Dusty Attic art work to share with you all as well next post! - sorry my computer has been playing up and I havent been able to download my photos- but I am hoping that will be fixed very soon

STEAMPUNK .....

WOW - it has been nearly a month since I have updated my blog. In that time I have been really really sick, sent my second son to Japan on student exchange for two weeks (I miss him heaps!) and Have been asked by Natalie from Scraptivate to go with her to the Penrith show in Sydney in November - and you know she had to basically threaten me to go with her LOL .... So I have been doing samples to take with us (along with Mel, Meg, Nat, Mandy)... Now I LOVE STEAMPUNK - I think it is because it has all the boy stuff I love - mixed with girly stuff as well together in one !- WELL I could NOT wait to get the G45 papers in my hot little hands (actually they are kind of medium sized hands for a woman!) and my fav, watch pieces, Tim holz embellishments, chipboard, Micacious Iron Oxide and some rub n buffs, of corse not to forget 3D ing and this is what you get ........

Mmmmmmmmm, love steampunk, will be back soon with some more "stuff" i have been doing

Using H2O's .....and a Happy Birthday

Hello everyone - the start of another new week, they seem to be going faster and faster heading towards christmas as fast as I can blink LOL

To my beautiful second born son STEVEN, Happy 16th Birthday my darling boy. It is only two weeks and three days until he heads of with the school to Japan for 10 days - He is going to have such a great time (I will miss him of corse).....

Have you ever wondered how to use those beautiful sparkling H2O's? That is what I am teaching this Saturday afternoon at Scraptivate. You should see all the beautiful new colours that Natalie has got in as well ( I would like to think it is because of my class but really it is beause they totally rock and are another great medium to use ). There is one femine card with a cute bird house and bird and a MAN card (YEp a man card LOL !!! ) as well with cogs.

Jabawokky paper !!!

Helloooooo {waving} ... I - like everyone else has been busy, but I did finish one of the canvases I am doing as my Design team project for Scraptivate and I have started the other - but I have been distracted by the New My Minds Eye papers and the new 7 gypsies papers as well that have just come in !!!
tar dar .......the finished canvas (photos taken on my Iphone as I took my camera but forgot to put my SD card back into it )

Cant wait to finish the large print one either.

Also this week I have had the BEN distraction. Yep I watched the downhill slide of one of the most talented sportsman that we have - I am not going to "get on my soap box" on here LOL - only to say - I love Ben Cousins and what a waste of a few years of his liFe - I also hope he stays clean for the rest of his life and he and his family can find some peace.

Grace by name - Grace by nature

I love love love this little girl - She is the daughter of one of my most treasured beautiful friends (Chook !!!) - Grace is her name and isnt she just beautiful? As you know I dont have girls but I do have half of Grace and Half of Shannon (Shell's little girl - whom I equally love) .....
I have used The Websters papers (which of corse needed to be 3d'd!) with lots of flowers, that beautiful dress form is of corse from Dusty Attic and the "angelic"word is from a new range of words to come out as well :o)

See those florishes coming out from behind the flowers ???? They are the first of Dusty Attic's BOTANICAL ACCENTS.... Florishes and the like going to be made especially just to enhance you flowers on your work - BUT they do make a nice corner together as well (a small love heart with the curls)

Hmmmmmm this is the third post in a week !!!

Mojo Challenge from July

I forgot to share the layout that I did for the first Camp Mojo challenge!
Well I am about to correct that Hehehe......
The challenge was a sketch challenge and I must say at first I was a bit hesitant as I dont like banners (or bunting) on MY layouts so when I saw that it had one right across the page I had to think of something else - Lace = Perfect - Beads = Perfect! Beads sewn on to the lace even more Perfect !!!
This photo was taken a while ago now and I have never got around to scrapping it until now. One of my most Favorite things is a FLEUR DE LIS .... love them !!! (I know you are all doing the eye roll - like we know that already !!!)
Well Jen from Dusty Attic has cute little ones that I use all the time but had NO hesitation in making a bigger one either! -mMMMMMmmmmmm My Fav !!!

I have also used the loopy border at the top and the words and of corse that beautiful florish - ALL from Dusty Attic. I still will be back in a few days with the layout I did of Grace !

Scrap the Boys - with Flowers!

I had a terrific weekend away with Scrap Away in WA - Tamara had everything organised to a T (hehe) and it was great fun ! - I have a few layouts to share that I finished over the weekend ... the first one is a challenge from Scrap the Boys the challenge that was set was to add flowers to your BOY layout. Now for those of you that know me you will know that I dont do "flowers" when I scrap my boys LOL... except now for this one!!!

This paper is from Little Yellow Bicyle, those little bugs where screaming to be 3D'd - I have used the Tim Holtz die of the Tattered flowers, the words are from Dusty Attic (including the word Steven - spoilt by Jen on our Dustetts day" I cant get enough of those little vines either - they add that extra "thing" to flowers and corners etc

I will be back soon with a girly layout of my beautiful friend's daughter Grace. (with the first of new Botanical Accents from Dusty)

Headband - Class -Craft show - Movies - Broken heart

Hiya girls (waving)... What a weekend I have had ! - good and bad...
on Friday night my beautiful friend Mel came over and we created together, I made this head band which I love !!! -

note: photo taken at 1am on Mel's phone - and YES I am wearing my PJ's LOL!
Then on Saturday I worked at Scraptivate in the shop with MEL and then also taught the Linda Baldock inspired blooms to a wonderful bunch of ladies :o)...
Saturday night was horrible because Michael and his girlfriend split up and I spent a few hours with him on my bed just cuddled up to Mum, chatting - until 2am - a broken heart is a horrible thing to have and at nearly 17 is so much more dramatic, I wish there was some way to take that pain away from him - I know we all go through it and get up and move on but the first time is always the hardest - they have spoken etc now and are still "kind of together"not seeing each other as much etc though. (Im not entirely sure what that means LOL)
Sunday MEL and I went to the craft show (Mmmmm are Mel and I a couple ??? ROFL )
Wow what a great time we had, I bought a Teddy Bear kit (like I did 2 years ago) and spoke with the Doll making lady for ages and I think I might give that a go as well! - When I told Anthony he just smiled and nodded LOL - Or was that an eye roll ??? Sunday arvo Anthony and I went to the movies and saw "Centurion", lots of blood and gore for my hubby !!! - My pick next time (heheehehe watch out huni!)
This week I will be packing for my weekend away at a retreat - I cant wait

Stamping with Scrap The Boys

WOW - I had so much fun doing this layout... The challenge was from Scrap The Boys
To Use stamps on your layout. I have used the Dusty Attic tribal piece as the actual stamp and embossed the background paper in shimmer brown. I have also used one of the new words, chain link and chicken wire from Dusty Attic. The paper is Tim Holtz and I have embossed the black tape with the cuttlebug brick wall die and rubbed some Treasure silver over the top. Cant wait now until the beginning of the month where they set another challenge!

Of Corse I am biased but I think my baby boy is handsome!

Cards and a catch up

A fortnight ago all of us girls from Scraptivate got together with Julie from Collections to do some shop samples.... I got to make these two great cards which I am now teaching, phone 9444 6626 to book in - and our card classes have now changed to Saturday afternoons, instead of night time when people have to go to work etc the next day.... great way to spend the weekend, love to see you there

This Saturday I got to spend the whole day/night/ early morning creating with (half) of the Dusty Attic girls (THE DUSTETTS) creating and sharing Ideas .... I cant believe how quickly the time went - I had the absolute best time :o) .... I didnt even finish a layout though LOL - however I have three that need finishing touches and then they are completed - Of corse I will share when they are done

Scrap the Boys

Since I have three boys I have decided that I am going to take part in the challenges over at SCRAP THE BOYS the first challenge is up and this is my layout of Steven....
He is the one that is hardest to photograph as he always seems to disappear when the camera is around... I love him so much - but I am not allowed to tell him LOL!!!
I have to hold him down to cuddle him or bribe him for a hug - thats ok he knows my arms are always open no matter how big or how old he gets......

I have used the Dusty Attic brick pannel (DA0316) and the Barbed Wire (DA0154)
Tim Holtz papers and I have printed the sentences onto sticky back canvas.

To get the colouring on the brick wall I first used Hot Chocolate Glimmer CHALK over the whole lot, then used a brushed and brushed a fine line with Glimmer Mist Tattered Leather, finally I used Treasure Gold and a little silver rubbed in little bits over the wall.

Blue Blue Blue

I love this photo of Drew, I always wonder what he is thinking about staring out into the ocean like that. He looks so peaceful like he could stay there forever. So when the monthly challenge at Scraptivate was set as Blue, I immediatley thought of this photo. I have used the Dusty Attic swirls in the corners, some ribbons and die cuts from Tim Holtz and a Sizzex die to make the swirls around the edges. I have then used a white gel pen to add highlights to the swirls and the ribbon.

Hi everyone

This is my take on the Sketch challenge for Dusty Attic
I have used some of my fav photos of Anthony and I - He is my best friend as well as my Hubby, we laugh ALOT together even though we have different senses of humour!

See those little mini vines as the bottom - they are one of my favorites at the moment and you get 20 in a packet - I have used them to decorate a bell that I got - which I will photograph soon ! Other dusty goodness on my page is the large florish and the top and the two at each end of the flowers and of corse those gorgeous birds.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, Mel and I went to see Eclipse last night and it was AWESOME !!! I think we need to go again LOL....
Then today we met at the swap meet and picked up some bargains there as well.It is school holidays as well for two weeks and I think my boys are really looking forward to sleeping in especially since we have had such cold mornings - Is it bad to be jealous Hehehehehe

Got Flowers ???

As most of you know, I dont use a lot of flowers in my layouts as I do alot of BOY stuff and If you knew my rough & tumble, dirty, smelly (in a boy way!), gruff boys there is no way on earth I could put a flower on a layout of any of them and NOT loose sleep about it !!! However, every now and again I do scrap myself and that is when the flowers, bling and beads come to life!

One of the highlights of mine and my best friends lives was meeting our Idol - Shannon Noll (we even had his autograph tattooed on- yep BIG Fans!)
I love love love the smile on Sharon's face in this photo - its like she just cant believe it (neither could I !)

This is where the new Tim Holtz die I got came in, now I have an addicition to these flowers !!! I love that they are so versatile and so easy to make !

HELLO ......

Well I know it has been ages since I have posted but lots has happened in that time.
Some artwork that I cant share yet, a short hospital stay put me up for a couple of weeks (small procedure)and then I have some crappy cough throat "thing" that attacks me more at night time then any other time, so I have been sleeping in one of our theatre room recliners for nearly two weeks now - I am sure hubby is happy - he has the bed all to himself........
BUT
Inbetween all of that I have seen one of my beautiful friends from Sydney (well she is a Perthite but moved there and needs to come home soon!!!) ... Linda Baldock

We did lots of catching up on a play night at her Mums house and then we had a Mega shop day together and I did two of her classes as well...
This is my flooded canvas (the theme is beach... It is going outside near my pool area whenever that gets done LOL ) ..

I also did the Flowers by Linda Baldock and she has graciously said yes to me teaching a class on them as well.... I WILL POST ABOUT THAT NEXT WEEK... stay tuned

I also had a wonderful day a few weeks ago looking after the best behaved kids I have ever watched. Beautiful couple Meg and Kev had a wedding to go to and so did Nett, so I put my hand up to babysit ..... Mitch the oldest is just amazing and did everything I asked him to do and more, Kassidy is a cheeky hugging machine, Eliza is a non stop talking little girly girl, I thought I had lost my hearing at one stage but it was just that Elli had fallen asleep LOL and who can forget Angus ? - He is soooo cute... Four beautiful kids to a wonderful couple xox

Also onto another passion of mine ------- MOVIES ....
Anthony and I went and saw ROBIN HOOD ... Omg I loved it (and no it has nothing to do with the fact my man RUSS is in it ...hehehe) If you get a chance it is worth seeing

DT work and Classes

Hiya Everyone

WOW I have been busy with everyday life at the moment. Trying to arange Michael's career etc is proving very stressful for me but mainly for him - so Mum has to keep her cool to keep him calm !!! We have decided to forget about Tafe as they mucked him around so much and we are going to go the apprenticeship route now!
Steven is excited about going to Japan and is looking for work to earn some of his own money but he is fussy and doesnt want to work in a fast food joint.
Drew is waiting for his birthday so he is finally 14 and can be age appropriate for a job (HJ's beware- here comes another Wanless boy !!!)
Anthony has been to Darwin to visit his BFF ! and is now on 3 weeks leave with a huge "House Maintence" list to do LOL...
Me well I have been doing class samples and DT work for Scraptivate

This is the Glimmer Chip board book - Fun to do and a bit different

You will pour your own mould to go onto the front cover and we are also making a tule bag for the book to go into when finished

For part of my Design team project this month I got a lot of Collections stuff to play with which was perfect for my mini album fetish as there was a little mini album in there for me to decorate !!! (does Natalie know me or what LOL)

Love the new papers and little birdhouses are soooo cute

Metal Mania - Dusty Booth

I thought I would call in and update !!!
This is my sample for the monthly challenge over at SCRAPTIVATE this month = METAL

They are magnetic envelope pockets for my Boys "stuff" from school etc that I need out but dont want to put on my new fridge (New fridge !!!, no more towel on the floor LOL) ..... I love the foil tape put through the cuttlebug and the one I did for Steven with the steel plate looks escellent - just like the back of a ute LOL

Floating Frame class.....

I had a great time making this, It is so pretty without being way over the top, White and cream colours with lace, beads, ribbons....
My Class is on the 2nd May - which is One week before Mothers Day - It would make a great gift for Mum or Grandmother - to book in phone Scraptivate

Proud and sad ....

I am so proud of all three of my boys, although they can be mumbling, dirty, smelly horrible cave men they are also loving, giving boys with beautiful soft souls. It makes me sad sometimes to think of them growing up SO FAST! Not only in feet and inches but more in age and maturity.
This is one of Michaels ball photos from last November, I remeber taking him to his grade two disco LOL - He didnt let me out of his sight and only wanted to dance with ME.... hahahaha - how things change - I had to threaten him to get these photos let alone be anywhere near him ! All I can say is after buying him a suit, shirt, tie, shoes and his share of the limo and his ticket - thank god I dont have girls to which you add another few hundred dollars !!!!

I have used the Dusty Attic gate - BUT I have taken the middle out to put the photo in and then used the middle on the left hand side as a gate - and dont you just love that tree ??? - again I have cut into it and changed it so it is in halves.
You gotta love Tim Holtz Along the Edge Sizzix die ( from Scraptivate )

Sorry about the photos - bit dark - my Mum has my camera with her on holidays! - I will try and get a clearer one

This year it will be his year 12 ball and STEVEN'S year 11 ball !!!

Well - On the weekend I taught some beautiful ladies how to make this and they chose their own colours...

Well- I fell in love with the cream and brown one - So I changed mine to this one now .......

I went to spotlight on Thursday night for a browse and saw this lamp base on special for $5 .... and an idea popped into my head ... so off I went with the base.
When I got home i got my foam egg shapes out, a duck I got from Good sams for $1 - it is a hideous colour but I loved the shape.....I started painting...
Then I got this AWFUL star shaped glittery basket (did I tell you it is a star!!and hideous?)

Not for long because I pulled it apart and made a nest...

Then I have this Dusty Attic goodness to add...

I painted the eggs and speckled them...

THEN .... I STARTED PUTTING STUFF TOGETHER ....

It WILL be finished tonight so I will put pics up the finished project tomorrow (hehehe that is the part two !!!or should I wait until Saturday ?)

Bo Peep - NO... Bo Bunny !!!

I did these two layouts on the weekend with the new Bo Bunny papers fromn Scraptivate the first one is of SARAH, isnt she sweet? Sarah is Michaels girl friend ( for 6 months now ) - she is a gorgeous girl and she let me scrap her LOL !!! gotta love that I have a girl to scrap now LOL - I have photos of the two of them together to do yet as well - It is done in the Jazmyne range Ohlalala... they are glittery and embossed and pretty and flowery

The other one is of the photo shoot that Mel did of me the other day - I have used the DUSTY ATTIC frame and the florishes along with the Mamma Razzi range from Bo Bunny

Question - what do you get if you have, a lamp base, a duck, some foam eggs, ribbon, some Dusty attic pretties and a star shaped basket ?????

Tick Tock, Tick Tock... I finished my clock !!!

I finished my beautiful clock from DUSTY ATTIC ... I love it - it is for my craft room which is why it is all pretty and blingy and has tear drops - It goes Perfectly in my room .... did I tell you I love it ???

Texture Paste and rub'n'buff

Clear embossing and paint and rub'n'buff and dry brushing

Flowers, bling, beads and tear drops

I also did my Paper Tole card class samples for my class at Scraptivate in April - pop in and have a look at them ( I have used the new basic grey papers and they are bright and funky! )

Dress Form Love......

A few Sunday's ago, just before work at Scraptivate I asked MEL to take some photos of me as I needed some new "head" shots..... She is such a great photographer! Making me laugh as well by getting me to " work it baby, work it !!!" hehehe Needless to say I loved the shots that she got of me and this is one of them, of corse with Dusty Attic laser cuts, frame and dress (dress form with the stand cut off)... Love the prima flowers, a large 7 gypsies drop with rub on. I have done my "thing" and 3D'ed the flowers around the edges from the beautiful Websters paper. Behind the frame is accetate with the dress form print on it.

I made some magnets from the mini Frame from Dusty Attic BUT I dont really like how they turned out soooooo - I am re-doing them, then I will show LOL.

This is what I did last weekend when Mel, Megan and I cropped at the shop together - we hardly get to do this so it was too great of an oppurtunity not to miss..... Mel walked out the door for work HEhehhe from 12 and was right back at 4.15! ...

Well its not a secret I love CROWNS, FLUER DE LIS and BIRDS and PRETTY FLORISHES
So what better thing to do with the Dusty Attic frames ??? Yeah, put them together so they stand up with birds, cages, swirls, flowers, beads, glimmer mist, dry brushing and bling (not to mention the NEW Wesbsters pages).....

Some Sharing.....

I have been busy busy busy this week doing some layouts, so I thought I would share!

The first one is of Michael learning to drive, it is a bit scary looking over at the driver and it is your CHILD !!! ... He still looks pretty cool as well of corse!I have used the the Little Yellow Bicycle Generation Z papers and Dusty Attic Boy Design laser cuts and cogs, I coloured them with Lumier paint and then Dimensional magic (and I didnt put my finger in it to make sure it was dry LOL)

This one is of my beautiful Dad, He is like me and doesnt like his photo been taken so I love that I got this one of him, I have used the new Graphic 45 Gentleman range and Duty Attic alphabet and Chair.... ohhhhh I love how the chair turned out ....

This is of my Water Baby, just add water for him and he is happy for hours, I have used the Genration Z papers again and Duty Attic swirls.... add some hand stiching in there as well... oh and see the little metal tabs on the side of the photo - they are for the ends of ribbon, from LYB Generation as well, but I do like them used as an embellishment ....

I love this Sewing Room that I have done using Dusty Attic laser cut pieces and the back of a canvas. One of my favs is the sewing machine (I have threaded it) and I adore the dress forms as well (both of them!) and of corse I had to make shelves for the bobbins and the material .....

Classes Coming up ............

I have two new classes running next month at SCRAPTIVATE in March
the First is a little Dusty Attic tool caddy - (great size for two rows of Glimmer Mist!) .... the technique though is Canvas transfer Images.... Once you know how-you will be doing this all the time LOL and the second is a little house mounted on a canvas, would look great as a welcome sign - the gate also opens and closes!

Dusty Attic shadow box and Prima

Do you know what ??? - I am not even going to try and make up an excuse for being tardy and not updating my blog ... I am just going to say "sorry" LOL

Have you seen the new Prima and the New Dusty Attic in store at Scraptivate ???

With the new Dusty Attic pieces I have made a Palour entry Canvas (which is being scheduled as a class)... so you can see it at the shop and put your name down to make your own x
BUT
I have also done this Shadow Box from Dusty using the Prima flowers (coloured with Sparkling H2O's) and their new stamps embossed white onto the front of the frame and covered with Pale green ink (YEP i said GREEN Hehehhehe) the little florishes in the corners and the pot are of corse from Dusty Attic as well.

Sorry about the photo - we are still having issues with our home computer (this is taken on my I phone ! )

Happy New Year and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas .....

I had a great 11 days relaxing and being with my family and had a great new year spent with some beautiful friends who I want to spend more and more and more new years with... My boys are all doing well. Anthony is good and like me is looking forward to holidays together in two weeks time.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new tattoo, It is a Female (sexy mum) Gargoyle (ME!), with my boys names underneath. Gargoyles are protectors and that is what my Tattoo represents ... Me protecting my boys.....

Yes I know..... I am like a thirteen year old screaming teenager when it comes to Shannon Noll (and Vin and Russell and ....... lol)

THE MAN HIMSELF.....

Sharon and I got to meet him IN REAL LIFE - something we have been waiting for FOR FIVE YEARS !!! - We got hugs and kisses (oh dear I left a lippy mark on his cheek - which of corse then I had to gently wipe off) and we got him to sign us and we had his autograph tattooed on the very next day. below are photos of mine! - THERE IS A FANTASTIC PHOTO OF SHARON WHICH I WILL POST LATER TONIGHT..... It is my fav photo and when you see it you will understand why!

My tattoo the next day (yep it looks a bit sore and red in this photo but it has calmed down now!) .... the crown is from his Fan Club shirt and for those of you that know me know I LURVE Crowns, wings, skulls etc......
